Upshot is where collectible cards meets predictions. Each card on Upshot represents a live prediction tied to a real-world event. And if your prediction is right? Redeem real cash prizes! Cards can be bought, traded and sold. But it doesn’t stop there. Once an event unfolds, the prediction settled, and your prize is claimed, your cards remain a permanent, scarce collectible—a digital artifact of the moment you saw the future before everyone else. Your cards are proof you called a prediction first!

Start with a Mystery Pack containing a random set of digital prediction cards tied to upcoming events in Sports, Internet Culture and Beyond! Expect limited edition drops across a wide spectrum of topics based on the evolving global zeitgeist.
Reveal Cards 🎴
Upshot expands the appeal of predictions by remixing them with the aesthetics of trading cards and the virality of internet culture.
Each card contains a prediction and is automatically part of a prize pool.
Prediction: A real world prediction on the future.
Prize: The prize given out to the card holder if the prediction comes true.
Resolution Date: An expected date for when the prediction is expected to resolve as true or not true.
Prizes on Cards
Cards will indicate the prize at the bottom of them. Card holders win prizes when predictions on the cards come true.
Win Prizes 💰
The excitement of Upshot comes from winning cash prizes if a prediction on a card comes true.
If a prediction comes true, users holding onto winning cards can win cash prizes. Some cards unlock cash, some unlock additional prizes in the form of in-game currencies, merchandise, experiences and digital products. For cash prizes, users can choose to redeem their prizes in cash or in more packs of cards. Learn more about Upshot prize pools and how they work. Some prize pools contain bonus cash/prizes that are backed by Upshot, Sponsors or both!

Think of an event in Upshot as a single round of a prediction game.
How Upshot is played
Example of an Event:
This event is about “who will be the world’s first trillionaire?”
There are several prediction cards representing the different outcomes such as Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos etc.
A winning card for this event is determined if:
One of the personas in the cards is first to achieve a Trillion Dollar net worth (before the resolution date)
The resolution date arrives, none of the personas are declared a trillionaire, and the holder of the “Wildcard” wins.

Cards
Each card in an event represents a possible outcome. Aim to collect and hold onto the card you believe will win.

Wildcards
The “Unexpected Person” card. This card wins if none of the other cards do.
A joker-style card. Wins if none of the other cards win.
Resolution Date
An event is closed and Upshot will determine a winning card.

What It Means
Quick Example
Chance
The starting odds that this card will win when an Upshot event goes live. Since Upshot is a blend of foresight, chance and skill. The chance reflected on each card is just a starting line. Real world news and time may flip the true odds at any moment. Skilled players will use their own skills to decide if other players are wrong. They can choose to hold onto cards or trade it with other players or even accumulate more of the same card.
The chance of Mark Zuckerberg being the world’s first trillionaire starts off at a 44% chance. This could change depending on his net wealth and company performances over time.
Potential Winnings
This number reflects your slice of the event’s prize pool! This is calculated from the total cash in the prize pool as well as the number of individuals holding similar cards. The number may increase over time from yield, sponsorship funds and other players joining the game.
If Mark Zuckerberg is the world’s first trillionaire, then the holder of the card stands to win $1139 USD.
Rules
Judging criteria to determine winners for an event. Presented as a “Drop Down” menu on the Upshot Platform.
Example Ruleset for World’s First Trillionaire: “Net worth must be publicly reported by a reputable source such as Forbes, Fortune, Financial Times and based on Verifiable assets such as cash, real estate, equity holdings.”

Players can use Gold Cards to enter Contests. Gold cards are best obtained from Mystery Packs!
Gold cards come with “Gold Prizes” and a “Golden Glimmer” on them! These are special cards that are eligible for contests.
Building a Line-Up for Contests
Eligible cards can be used to enter contests
Players can build a lineup of Cards they want to enter a competition
Score based on the Number of Predictions that come true in your lineup
The Total Score is calculated based on the “Prize Value” of each individual card
Competition Brackets
Compete with other players in a contest on a Live Realtime Leaderboard
Win Cash Prizes depending on where your lineup places in the competition scoreboard
Card Eligibility For Contests and Terminology (Join By, Ends On)
Each contest comes with a “Join By” date. Join a contest before that date arrives. At the end of the “Join By” date, entries will be closed and players will no longer be able to submit a Lineup.
Each contest comes with an “Ends On” date. On this date, all cards submitted to the event would resolve and winners are determined. The Cash Prizes from the contest are then distributed into the accounts of each player.
When cards are “Locked In” and a Lineup is Submitted, players will temporarily lose access to trading or selling their cards until the Contest is Resolved.
Cards are automatically Returned to players once the contest is Resolved.
Gold Card Prizes After Contests
Gold cards are automatically returned to players once the contest is resolved.
Players can still claim Gold Prizes from winning cards once they have been returned to gain additional XP & Prizes.

Upshot is in an Invite Only Testnet Phase. Meaning users will need an Invite Code from a friend, team member or community member to get started. Join the waitlist to participate & benefit from exclusive perks & prizes reserved for Founding Members.
For those interested in winning card packs & locking in bonus drops at launch. All pre-launch activity from discord actions, social media actions and testnet actions will be tallied and rewards unlocked in waves after launch.

What does it mean?
When Upshot launches, top leaderboard participants will receive card packs pre-loaded into their accounts (Our way of saying thank you). Leaderboard positions are snapshotted and scores kept for future reward waves.
Leaderboard System 👑

The Upshot Leaderboard is divided between Seasons and Lifetime.
Season: Each season on Upshot lasts for a month. At the end of the month users receive a payout on their seasonal ranking.
Lifetime: Each account on Upshot accrues Lifetime Points for future rewards. At the end of each season, all accrued XP is added to the Lifetime leaderboard.
How To Obtain XP 💯
Players can obtain XP through a variety of methods.
Claiming Prizes on Winning Cards: Each time you claim a prize on a winning card, XP is awarded to your profile/season leaderboard.
Collecting a Complete Set of cards from Resolved Events.
Winning Contests: Receive XP each time a prize is won from Contests & for ranking highly in Contests.
Trading in the Marketplace: Receive XP for making trades on the Marketplace.
Burn Gold For XP 🪙
Players can choose to convert their Gold into XP to improve the leaderboard position.
Users can burn Gold for XP to improve USD payouts at the end of each season (Higher leaderboard ranking comes with improved payouts).
XP is added to “Other Boosts” with only 50% of it added to Total XP.

XP Calculation From Card Prizes 🔬
Each time you “Claim” a Prize from a Winning Card, you are awarded XP to your account.
XP affects your Monthly Payout, Monthly Leaderboard (higher USD, the better you rank).
For Gold and Shots XP is provided at a 1:1 Ratio to the Prize on the Cards.
Cash Cards give out 20x XP (Cash Cards provide the best option to improve monthly payouts).
Example:
Claiming a 100 Gold Prize from a Winning Card will give you 100 XP.
Claiming a 10 Shot Prize from a Winning Card will give you 10 XP.
Claiming a $100 USD Cash Prize from a Winning Card will give you 2000 XP.

When your invited friends make purchases, earn 1.5% Cashback on every dollar they spend. Top users unlock boosted referrals up to 5% Cashback.
These rewards are automatically tracked and accumulated in a dedicated vault and once your referral vault reaches $5.65, you unlock a free card pack from Upshot.
From Marketplace Activity
When your invited friends trade in the Upshot marketplace, receive 10% of the marketplace fees in In-Game Currency (Gold or Shots). The remaining 90% of fees are burned.

Prize Pools 🏦
The revenue from each card pack purchase is funneled directly into the prize pools. Each event will have its own prize pool held in a distributed, trust-minimized and secure escrow. This means that no central authority can tamper with the funds. It also means that winners get paid transparently and securely when an Upshot event resolves. We’ve built a novel customer protection system rarely seen in traditional prediction platforms. When the outcome of an event is decided/resolved, the winners get paid. Holders of cards tied to the correct prediction can redeem their share of the cash prize pool instantly and transparently.

Are my Cards Permanent?
Each Upshot card lives on as a tamper-proof digital memento, stored on a distributed web storage system that outlives any company. Your digital cards will outlive Amazon, Google or even Microsoft. We’re building cards that go beyond fleeting predictions. When our users put their skin in the game, they deserve to own a cultural artifact.
Do I Get to Keep My Cards Even After I Redeem My Prize?
Yes, your card will remain a scarce, collectible in your account even after an event has ended and if you claimed your prize.
